- Destroys hard drives, optical media and assorted electronic devices.
- When it comes to the fast, safe, easy destruction of hard drives, nothing outperforms the Jackhammer from SEM.
- This slow speed, high torque shredder uses specially designed saw tooth hook cutters to chew up to 25 hard drives in a minute. It's clean, quiet, vibration free, and has a small footprint. It is also mounted on casters you can literally use it anywhere.
- The Jackhammer is also ideal for cell phones, BlackBerry's, optical media, memory sticks and similar electronic storage devices. A convenient discharge conveyor deposits waste into dumpsters or barrels.

- I was wondering if it can shred processors, the whole computer or computer covers(plastic) and also is it available in MD?. Is it also possible to list what it can shred beside memory stick and hard drives. Any response is much appreciated.
-Abdulmalik - The SEM 0301 Jackhammer has only been tested and approved to shred memory sticks and hard drives up to 2" thick. Shredding anything besides the listed items will void the warranty and possibly cause damage to the function of the device.
This item weighs approximately 2,500 lbs and is 68"W x 59"W x 90"D.

- We would like to get something that can shred harddrives and 3490/3590 tapes. Can we put tape into the SEM 0301 Jackhammer?
- A model 0301 will very easily shred Data Tapes ( 3490 / 3590 ).
The biggest problem is segregating the waste.
Assuming the customer is using the machine for Hard Drive shredding ALSO, they would need to change the
waste collection bin when running tapes. You don’t want to mix the tape with the hard drive waste.
Another issue would be to keep the machine clean.When hard drives are being shredded, they cause sparks. If there is some “left over” tape in the cutting chamber and they decide to start running hard drives, there is a possibility that the excess tape may catch fire from the sparks of the hard drive shredding. Cleaning the chamber after tape destruction would be a way to avoid this. The cleaning is very easy.
Bottom line….the machine is designed to destroy HARD DRIVES however it can destroy tapes as well.
It can also destroy other items such as cell phones, blackberries, etc.
Simple everyday housekeeping as described in the product manual will be required by the end user when / if destroying other devices.
